About

Good governance for a strong New Zealand

The Institute of Directors in New Zealand (IoD) is the professional body for directors.

We are a not-for-profit membership organisation focused on supporting and enabling directors, executives, and aspiring leaders, to make positive, empowering transformations in their organisations and wider communities. Through our resources, courses, news, and events, we aim to keep the governance community informed on the constantly evolving business landscape.

Background

The IoD in New Zealand was established over 40 years ago as a division of the Institute of Directors in the UK. In 1989, the Institute of Directors in New Zealand (Inc) adopted its own constitution and became a separate legal entity.

Membership

Today, we have over 10,000 members connected through our regional branch network and national headquarters. Learn about becoming a member here.
