Brian is one of New Zealand’s most seasoned communications advisors, specialising in reputation management. His experience spans the energy, industrial, transport, infrastructure, property, financial services and sports sectors, working with Board Chairs and Chief Executives in times of high risk or crisis. He has helped manage media and community communication for events such as Cave Creek, the Canterbury earthquakes and Pike River, as well as a wide range of public and private culture reviews, investigations, Inquiries and cyber incidents.
His involvement in governance is driven by these experiences. Brian believes the role Boards play in defining the culture and ethics of the organisations which they direct, not only mitigates the potential impact of challenging events, but also helps to proactively manage reputational risk. “That oversight role is ever more vital in the more volatile economic and social environment the country must navigate over the rest of this decade.”.
