You can upgrade from Associate to Member if you meet the criteria for Member and commit to the IoD's required continuing professional development (CPD).

Member to Chartered Member

Chartered membership shows that you meet the standards of the governance profession and are committed to professional development. It positions you as a role model for other members, their organisations, and the governance community.

Chartered Member to Chartered Fellow

Membership as a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors is by application or invitation. Chartered Fellows are at the highest level on the chartered membership pathway.
