GNDI Global Director Survey report 2020

Between August and November 2020, nearly 2,000 directors across the globe participated in the Global Network of Director Institutes 2020-2021 Survey. The survey participants came from 17 director institutes spanning North and South America, Africa-Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Russia, Europe and the United Kingdom. Around 120 New Zealand directors took part, comprising 6% of the total responses.

The survey report provides insights into business confidence; social, economic and environmental issues and risks; technology and data governance; core governance practices and how boards can improve effectiveness and director capability. This report also looked at the impacts of COVID-19 on governance and how resilient boards were across the globe.

This is the second GNDI Global Director Survey. It was led by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) North America. It follows the inaugural survey in 2018 which was led by the Institute of Directors New Zealand.
