Exploring governance and decision-making in the banking sector with Reserve Bank of New Zealand Director Jeremy Banks MInstD.
Join us for an informative evening as we delve into the governance structure of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. This session will be led by Jeremy Banks MInstD, a director at the Reserve Bank, who will provide an in-depth look at the Bank’s governance framework, responsibilities, and decision-making processes.
Attendees will gain valuable insights into the bank’s structure and strategic direction, deepening their understanding of how governance shapes monetary policy, supports financial stability, and impacts the wider economy.

MInstD
Jeremy has been in the software development industry for over 25 years. Along with his wife he co-founded the innovative software company Plink Software in 2015.
Plink focuses on creating kauapapa Māori software, including the award winning free te reo Māori language app Tipu. Plink's flagship product is Te Ao Hunga, which is a platform that allows iwi and hapū trusts and rūnanga to manage their membership and whakapapa data.
As well as the Reserve Bank, Jeremy's current governance experience includes Deputy Chair at Wakatū Incorporation and Chair of Network for Learning. Jeremy's past experience includes Science for Technological Innovation Kāhui Māori, Nelson Regional Development Agency and Ngāti Rārua Ātiawa Iwi Trust.
Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Otago.
He has whakapapa links to the top of the South Island through Ngāti Rārua, Rangitāne ki Wairau and Ngāti Kuia.
